Connect a File URL (CSV / XLSX / JSON)

The File URL connector downloads a file at chart-render time, parses it, and surfaces its rows as a single virtual table. Great for operational feeds (currency rates, weather data, internal exports) without standing up an API.

Supported formats

  • CSV — comma- or semicolon-separated, UTF-8 preferred
  • XLSX — first sheet by default; first row is the header
  • JSON — array of objects, or an object with a single array property

Walkthrough

  1. Add Datasource → File URL.
  2. Paste the URL (e.g. https://example.com/data/sales.csv).
  3. Test & Load Fields — fields are inferred.

Refresh behavior

The file is re-downloaded on every chart render unless your plan caches results. To force a fresh fetch, pass ?nocache=true on the report URL.

Limits

  • Max 50 MB per fetch
  • Max 100,000 rows
  • Public URL only — for authenticated downloads, use the gateway with a local API
