How to connect files by link and cloud storage
Leave the file where it is: connect a public share link, Google Sheets, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox, then pick its sheets. Narrated.
The steps
- 1If your file already lives online, you don't need to upload it. Connect it where it is: a public link, Google Sheets, OneDrive or Dropbox.
- 2For a public file link, paste a share link that anyone with the link can open. OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox and direct links all work, with no sign-in needed.
- 3For Google Sheets, give the spreadsheet and range, and a service account key. Then share the sheet with that service account's email address.
- 4For OneDrive or SharePoint, enter the file's path and a Microsoft access token. The file is read through Microsoft's own service, so it stays in your account.
- 5Whichever you choose, test the connection, then pick the sheets you want. Every sheet in a workbook becomes its own table.
