How to connect business systems and APIs

The steps

1. 1Your business systems are datasources too: Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Google Analytics 4, alongside Power BI and any REST API.
2. 2For Salesforce, enter the login address, a username and password, and a security token if your organisation requires one. You can also choose a default object, such as Account.
3. 3Already use Power BI? Connect a semantic model through its XMLA endpoint, with an app registration in Microsoft Entra, and ask it questions in plain English.
4. 4Anything else with an API connects as a REST API: choose the method, paste the address, and add a key if the API needs one.
5. 5Test the connection, and the fields the API returns become columns you can chart and ask about.
