How to set up data alerts

Get an email and a bell notification when a chart's total goes above or below a number, or rises or falls by a percentage. Calculated from your own rows. Narrated.

The steps

  1. 1Stop opening a report every morning just to check one number. A data alert watches it for you, and tells you when it changes.
  2. 2Open the report, choose More, then Alerts.
  3. 3Pick the chart, Total sales. Choose goes above, enter twenty-five million, keep check daily, and choose Add alert. You see today's value straight away: 24.89 million.
  4. 4When the total crosses your line, you get an email with the new value and a link to the report. It alerts once when the line is crossed, not on every check.
  5. 5It also appears under the bell in the app, so you see it next time you sign in.
  6. 6To catch a sudden move instead, choose rises by, or falls by, a percentage. Each check is compared with the previous one.
  7. 7And they're your numbers. Priya sees Canada, so her alert watches Canada's total. Check now, pause or delete any alert, up to twenty-five each.
