Connect Google Sheets

Connect any Google Sheet via a service account — no OAuth pop-ups, refresh-token expiry, or per-user permissions.

Step 1 — Create a service account

  1. Go to console.cloud.google.com → APIs & Services → Credentials.
  2. Create Credentials → Service account.
  3. Skip role assignments (the sheet itself grants access).
  4. Open the service account → Keys → Add Key → JSON. Save the JSON file.

Step 2 — Share the sheet

Open your Google Sheet → Share → paste the service account email (e.g. my-svc@my-project.iam.gserviceaccount.com) → set Viewer access.

Step 3 — Connect in AI Insights

  1. Add Datasource → Google Sheets.
  2. Paste the Sheet URL (the full URL from your browser).
  3. Paste the JSON key contents.
  4. Test & Load Fields. Each tab becomes a table.

Tips

  • The first row of each tab is treated as the header.
  • Re-share the sheet with the service account if you ever rotate the service account.
  • For larger sheets (>50k rows), prefer the file URL connector pointed at a published CSV.
