How to upload an Excel or CSV file
Start with a spreadsheet: choose File Upload, name the datasource, pick an Excel or CSV file up to 25 MB, test it, and continue. Narrated.
The steps
- 1Every analysis starts with data, and the quickest way in is a spreadsheet. From your workspace, choose New AI Insights, and you land on the list of datasource types.
- 2For an Excel workbook or a CSV file, choose File Upload.
- 3Give the datasource a name you'll recognise, then choose your file. Excel and CSV both work, up to 25 megabytes, and the file is stored encrypted.
- 4The format is detected for you, so you can leave the override on Auto. In an Excel workbook, every sheet becomes its own table.
- 5Choose Test Connection. When it says connected successfully, the file has been read, and you're ready to pick tables and set up your assistant.
